Challenging Disability Through Outdoor Adventure

82 years old and set to ride the C2C for The Lake District Calvert Trust

82 year old Anthony McEntee of Keswick is taking part in the Lake District Calvert Trust inaugural 3 day Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge 20th -22nd July. There has been such a good response to the event that we now have a total of 17 riders taking part.

Anthony has an impressive record when it comes to cycling. He has completed in recent years numerous long distance tours of the continent embracing Eastern Europe plus he has cycled some of the highest peaks on the continent without getting off!

Now Anthony is raring to go in the Calvert Trust C2C to raise as much money as possible in order to help the Trust to continue to enable people with disabilities, together with their families and friends, to achieve their true potential through the challenge of outdoor adventurous activities in the countryside. Highly qualified instructional staff provide the professional help, adaptive equipment and expertise necessary to achieve this aim. We constantly strive to expand and improve the range of activities to those with physical, sensory and/or learning disabilities and rely on members of the public to continue to support us in fundraising events to achieve this.

Lynn Healey (Business Manager) said, “Everyone at the Calvert Trust would like to wish Anthony and all the other riders the best of luck and hope they enjoy the experience whilst raising valuable funds for us. We would also like to say a huge thank you to Cyclewise for sponsoring the event.”
