Challenging Disability Through Outdoor Adventure

Lake District Calvert Trust win Lloyds Banking Group Community Award of £5000

Employees of Lloyds Bank, Keswick Branch recently visited the Lake District Calvert Trust to present the Trust with a £5000 Lloyds Banking Community Award. The award will enable youngsters with learning difficulties to take part in a residential activity course at the Calvert Trust by bridging the gap between what they can afford to pay and the cost of providing the course.

Samantha Pepper an employee at Lloyds Bank in Keswick nominated the Lake District Calvert Trust for the Community Award and then members of the public were asked to vote for the charity that they thought most worthy of the award.

Louise Miles (Local Fundraising Officer at the Lake District Calvert Trust) said,

" We are delighted to have won the award and would like to thank Samantha for nominating us and all our supporters who kindly voted for us. Through the generous support from Lloyds Bank, the award will go a long way towards supporting young people with disabilities to challenge themselves through the many outdoor activities offered at the Centre."
