Kielder Quest a Huge Success

The Rack

A brand new corporate challenge event has been hailed a success after raising over £5,000 for Calvert Trust Kielder.

The first Kielder Quest event  took place on Friday 8 March at the centre, located in the beautiful surroundings of Kielder Water & Forest Park.

The Trust welcomed 7 corporate teams to take part in physical and mental challenges in the new fundraising event.

Business colleagues from Northumbrian Water, UBS Wealth Management, DAC Beachcroft LLP, Wakefield Chartered Building Surveyors, Lumsden & Carroll Civing Engineering, Brainbox and Seymour Civil Engineering battled cold and wet weather conditions to complete 6 instructor led challenges including, The Rack, Giants Ladder, The Wall and Sticky Puzzle.

Lumsden & Carroll Civil Engineering were the events first winners taking home the Kielder Quest Trophy.  A special award was given to Brainbox whose team was sponsored by Irwin Mitchell LLP, for displaying the best Team Spirit of the day.

Andy Pritchard, Lumsden & Carroll Civil Engineering said:

“The centre is located in wonderful surroundings and the challenges tested the nerve of our team throughout.  Our enthusiasm was not dampened by the dull weather and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would love to have another crack at it next year.  A big thank you to the team at Calvert Trust Kielder who helped make the day an unqualified success.”

Hazel Ditchburn, Corporate & Events Fundraiser, Calvert Trust Kielder said:

“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part helping us to raise £5,953.50 to boost our work with disabled children and adults, with special thanks to our sponsor, Northumbrian Water.  It is fantastic to receive support from the local business community.

Kielder Quest was a huge success and despite the cold weather the teams remained in good spirit and everyone enjoyed the day.  We have already started to plan for next year’s event.”
