Build a cardboard boat and sail it on Windermere!

Saturday 18th May 2013

Low Wood Bay Resort Hotel, Windermere

The first annual Low Wood No Wood Cardboard Boat Race is on Saturday 18th May in aid of the Lake District Calvert Trust and kindly sponsored by Progression Solicitors.

“There is no more efficient way to convince someone you are crazy than to tell them you are building a cardboard boat.”

Your challenge is to build a cardboard boat and then sail it 100m on Lake Windermere! There are prizes for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, best design, best dressed paddler and the Titanic Award for the most spectacular sinking!

Entry only £20 per boat and your team can be as big as you like but must have a Captain and at least one person in it to sail the 100m race.

If you don't fancy entering a boat it is FREE to spectate and there will be a BBQ and refreshments available on the day.

If you would like to take up the challenge and would like to have great fun plus raise money for the Lake District Calvert Trust then check out the rules and regulations as well as how to build a boat, then sign up if you dare!
