The Garfield Weston Foundation Support Calvert Trust Exmoor with £90,000

The Garfield Weston Foundation, a long term supporter of the work of Calvert Trust Exmoor, have just awarded CTE £90,000 for a project combining improvements to our existing amenities and the development of new facilities to further enhance “The Calvert Experience” for our guests.

This generous grant will allow Calvert Trust Exmoor to complete our Enhancing Potential 2013 project, which includes:

  • Purchasing a multi-seated, wheelchair accessible golf buggy style shuttle to assist our guests with easy access to and from the reservoir.
  • Building a brand new activity, the Low Ropes Course, in one of our woodland areas.
  • Converting a room in the main building into a high needs wet room facility with ceiling track hoist.
  • Building a charging room for electric wheelchairs, allowing several guests to charge their chairs simultaneously.
  • Replacement and enhancement of various essential items around the centre, ensuring the continued smooth operation of the centre’s facilities.

Calvert Trust Exmoor would like to thank to GWF for their continued support, the improvements funded by this grant will enhance the experience of many thousands of guests over the next few years.

Tony Potter, Chief Executive of Calvert Trust Exmoor: “ We are extremely grateful to the Garfield Weston Foundation for their generous grant, this project would never have happened without their support.”

The new high needs wet room will look something like this, which is a photo of one of the high needs changing areas for our swimming pool.
