Challenging Disability Through Outdoor Adventure

Amazing Brynley's Brilliant Abseil

Although he’s only 8 years old, Barnstaple’s Brynley Bannister showed no fear whatsoever when he abseiled down the climbing wall at Calvert Trust Exmoor last week, raising over £250 for charity in the process.

Despite his young age Brynley is a seasoned charity fundraiser, having undertaken various charity fundraising events; most recently collecting and recycling unwanted drinks cans in aid of Devon Air Ambulance.

Brynley’s abseil raised funds jointly for both Children’s Hospice South West and Calvert Trust Exmoor, with Brynley splitting the money equally between them.

Rob Lott, Head of Communications at Calvert Trust Exmoor; “We were delighted when Brynley approached us with the idea of a sponsored abseil, especially when he said he wanted to do it on our climbing wall. He’s a fantastic young man with real community spirit, and we really appreciate his support. We wish him every success on his next adventure!”

Calvert Trust Exmoor will be putting the money Brynley has raised into our bursary funds, to support guests with disabilities who require financial assistance.
