Challenging Disability Through Outdoor Adventure

Christmas Cheer All Round for Calvert Trust Kielder

Cash for Kid's annual Family Festival has been hailed a great success after raising a 'christmas-cracking' £2,071 for Calvert Trust Kielder.

Christmas Tree Lights Switch On

Hundreds made the trip to Hilton Newcastle Gateshead to see Santa, the Snow Queen and Ice Princess plus the impressive 20ft Christmas tree and light switch on by Magic Radio’s Anna Foster.

The crowds also enjoyed complimentary mulled wine and mince pies, a Christmas gift and craft market plus live music and singing from 1st Windy Nook Girls Brigade and Methodist Youth Marching Band, 1st Wallsend Girls Brigade and up-and-coming local talents Michael Rice and Channey.

All proceeds will be used to help disabled people and their families to experience life changing outdoor adventure at Calvert Trust Kielder, located in the stunning Kielder Water & Forest Park, Northumberland.

Calvert Trust Kielder's events fundraiser Hazel Ditchburn organised the event and was delighted with the turnout.

She said:

"It really was a wonderful afternoon - made even better by the tremendous fundraising effort everyone put in.

Having the support of local people and businesses really does make a lot of difference to the charity and all the people it helps so we are very, very grateful to everyone who came along and supported us.

I would like to say a special thank you to Magic Radio’s Cash for Kids for helping to make the event possible.”

The next big event and fundraiser for Calvert Trust Kielder is the Kielder Quest Corporate Team Challenge in March 2015.
