Virgin London Marathon

 London Marathon 2011

Sixteen runners, raising money for the Calvert Trust, endured the extreme effort it takes and completed the Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 17 April. Cheered on by the London Committee and their families and friends they all got to the end with different tales of resolution and survival.

As the runners crossed the finishing line with stories of hallucinations, pain and an ongoing race with 'a house called Brian', they all agreed it was worth every second. As well as all their training our runners also put in a special effort to raise funds which will be shared with our three centres in Keswick, Kielder and Exmoor. Their hard work, determination and stamina will help others experience something similar at one of our centres.

A special thank you to the runners - Mark Aldred, Ian Atkins, Maria Bevan, Gill Brannan, Colin Flynn, Craig Hatch, Robert Hurdman, Stephen Johnson, Bryn Jones, Kelly Lewis, Raymund McManus, Stephen Phillips, James Proudfoot, Mark Reynolds, Oliver Robinson, Bogdan Suvar. Well done to all of them.
