Challenging Disability Through Outdoor Adventure

Exmoor is 'a beacon of brilliance' for others to follow

James Berresford, Chief Executive of Visit England, visited Calvert Trust Exmoor yesterday (4th June 2015).

Visit England is England's national tourist board and is responsible for ensuring that tourism in England thrives, through marketing England as a destination internationally, and providing advocacy for and information about the tourism industry. Visit England also runs the prestigious Visit England Awards for Excellence. Calvert Trust Exmoor won Gold in the 'Access for All' category at these awards in 2014.

James was given a full tour of the site and our accessible activities by Calvert Trust Exmoor's Activity Manager, Jon Cawley.

After his tour James said "To me as chief executive of Visit England the most important thing to me is delivering a great experience, why would you go on holiday otherwise? just seeing what they do here, the passion is so self-evident that you know everyone is going to go away with a smile on their face.

I have had the privilege of seeing the range of things that Calvert Trust Exmoor deliver. It's of the highest quality, it's the attention to detail that's impressive. Everything is done for the visitors and that's exemplary, and to top it off we are in one of the most beautiful environments. I have been absolutely blown away."

If everyone could aspire to deliver the customer satisfaction that they deliver here, I know that my job would be done."

James also described the Exmoor centre as 'a beacon of brilliance' for the country's tourism industry, and encouraged other businesses to aspire to emulate Calvert Trust Exmoor's success.
