Challenging Disability Through Outdoor Adventure

Calvert Trust Kielder receive award from High Sheriff of Northumberland

Calvert Trust Kielder has received an award from the High Sheriff of Northumberland  in recognition of the valuable services provided to the community.

High Sheriff of Northumberland Awards

The High Sheriff of Northumberland Youth Awards Scheme provides awards in recognition of groups in the community who encourage useful and beneficial pursuits for young people, helping them to be upstanding citizens and hopefully avoid criminal activities.

The awards were presented by the High Sheriff and Ashington born, Hairy Biker Si King. Calvert Trust Kielder will use this award to purchase new safety harness and helmets to continue being able to provide adventurous activities.

Upon receiving the award Catherine Little, Fundraising Manager said We are thrilled with this award. To be honoured with so many other good causes is amazing. We are delighted that our work, not just with disabled adults and children but with community groups and young adults has been so successful.

The Community Foundation support groups from Tyne and Wear and Northumberland communities, many who were represented at the award ceremony. The foundation continues to enrich lives through effective giving, an aim that the Calvert Trust Kielder not only relates to, but supports.
