 Tyne Bridge Zip Wire 2016

Through a varying degree of hail, snow, wind and sunshine members of Team Calvert zipped 230 metres over the River Tyne in aid of Calvert Trust Kielder. The event organised by Zip Slides UK, saw hundreds zip from the railings of the Tyne Bridge,  gaining up to speeds of 45mph.

Zip Wire over the TyneThree members of Dickinsons Furnishers LTD were part of the afternoon team, whilst Charlotte Gaunt, a fundraiser for the Calvert Trust Kielder led the morning team.  She said of the event

This is such a Great Event and everyone has really enjoyed taking part, despite the weather! Sitting on the bridge waiting to go, is certainly an experience, and the freedom and feeling of flying is like no other. It is this experience of freedom and overcoming challenges that we give to our guests at Calvert Trust Kielder. The realisation that Yes, I can do this, is more exhilarating then the action itself. I am proud of all those who are taking part and helping to raise vital funds for us up at Kielder.
