Team Calvert tackles the Great North Run

Tom Pugh, Alex Pugh and James McKenzie complete GNR

On Sunday 11 September over 80 Team Calvert runners took on the North East's most iconic half marathon the Great North Run.

The 13.1 mile race this year saw runners from over 180 different countries take part in the spectacular event. Mo Farah ran with the elite group continuing on his 2016 Rio Olympic success.

Matthew Crumbley was in the top ten of Team Calvert finishers and was thrilled by his time. He said after the race 'it was hard work but worth every step and I am so pleased that my fundraising has been able to help  Calvert Trust Kielder'

Also to successfully cross the finish line was Edward Freeman, who had been told by doctors he would never walk again. Edward was supported around the race, and wore a rainbow coloured tutu to help with his fundraising.
