Wide Skies Film Festival comes to Calvert Trust Kielder
Wide Skies Film is a new initiative led by the Forum Cinema in partnership with Queens Hall Arts, Hexham Book Festival and Film Bee and supported by the BFI Neighbourhood Cinema Touring fund.
The Festival showcases different venues across the North East allowing greater access to the big screen. Calvert Trust Kielder will be showing two films at it's centre in Kielder Water & Forest park on Wednesday 22 February from 4.30pm.
The first feature film to be shown at a fully accessible screening is Steven Spielberg's 2016 hit The BFG.
Ten-year-old Sophie is in for the adventure of a lifetime when she meets the Big Friendly Giant (Mark Rylance). Naturally scared at first, the young girl soon realizes that the 24-foot behemoth is actually quite gentle and charming. As their friendship grows, Sophie's presence attracts unwanted attention. After traveling to London, Sophie and the BFG must convince the Queen to help them get rid of all the bad giants once and for all.
Then on Wednesday 22 February at 7.30pm, it's time for the 2016 hit Ghostbusters.
Ghostbusters makes its long-awaited return, rebooted with a cast of hilarious new characters. Thirty years after the beloved original franchise took the world by storm, director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today--Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth.
Tickets to the screenings are only £5 and can be booked by calling Calvert Trust Kielder on 01434 250 232 or email Enquiries.
