#TeamCalvert Zip wires off Tyne Bridge for Calvert Trust Kielder
On a bright sunny April fool's day, 10 members of #Team Calvert zipped 230 metres over the River Tyne in aid of Calvert Trust Kielder. The event organised by Zip Slides UK, saw hundreds zip from the railings of the Tyne Bridge, gaining speeds of up to 45mph.
The morning saw the team head up to the Tyne Bridge with only a small breeze before zooming back to earth and landing at HMS Calliope.
#TeamCalvert included members of Rosedale Leasing, who have nominated Calvert Trust Kielder as their Charity of the Year. Rosedale Leasing are taking on several events throughout the year to raise sponsorship for two respite care breaks at Calvert Trust Kielder this April. Julie Rodgers and Kate Stanforth will both stay at the centre for a week for an all-inclusive respite holiday.
Also taking on the Zip wire was Alan Richardson, whose family have are undertaking five challenges to help raise funds and awareness for Calvert Trust Kielder. Alan was the first of his family to participate, but will be followed shortly by Anthony Tang on a parachute jump, His wife Julie, son Daniel and daughter Lauren will also be taking part in events throughout the year including the Great North Run, Color Obstacle Rush and Kielder Marathon.
Charlotte Gaunt, Event Fundraiser said on the day ' The Zip Wire is a great event and an excellent way to start a year full of exciting things. I am so proud of all of #TeamCalvert today, each member showed up with determination, proving that it's what you CAN do that counts. Well done to everyone who took part! Each team member has collected sponsorship for the Zip wire and these funds will help us to continue to show others that there are No Limits.'
