Challenging Disability Through Outdoor Adventure

Up the Creek without a Saddle

Up the creek

A team of 23 riding stables friends raised £5,178 for Lake District Calvert Trust by doing a sponsored White Water raft on the River Tummel in Pitlochry back on 5 July 2009.

One of the team Jean O’Neil said:

“We are hoping to raise money for the Calvert Trust. My daughter, Linzi, has a rare connective tissue disorder, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome which causes her to have repeated dislocation of all her joints. She is in constant pain and often in plaster. The time she spends at the Trust allows her to do the activities that she so much enjoyed before her illness. She never thought that she would be abseiling or rock climbing again! She comes home with a more positive attitude to life.”
