Company Kart Racing for Kielder Funds

BHP Law Go Karting

Over £1,350 was raised by clients and associates of BHP Law to drive in funds for Calvert Trust Kielder.

The regional law firm, which has offices in Darlington, Durham, Stockton, Newcastle and Halifax, staged the big race at the Warden Law karting centre in Houghton-le-Spring.

Guests comprising clients, intermediaries and staff of BHP Law including teams from Begbies Traynor, Christie & Co, Co-op, Evolution Business Recovery, KPMG, NatWest, Tynedale Business Network and ReciteMe, took part in a Le Mans-style classic where competitors took turns to secure the fastest laps, with prizes for the teams that went the distance.

BHP Law’s business development manager Claire Hewitt said:

“It was really competitive out there and everyone seemed to have a great time.  We are delighted with how much the event raised for such a good cause. The day also provided a relaxed venue in which competitors could network.”

The leading team of the day came from accountancy firm RSM Tenon, closely followed by tax advisors UNW and PM Stafford accountancy services in joint second place and RHK accountants in third.

Calvert Trust Kielder's Corporate Fundraiser Hazel Munro said:

“The money raised will go towards providing memorable and life changing experiences for children and adults with disabilities from across the North East.

It was fantastic that BHP Law decided to support us with this event. We rely on funds like this to keep our services accessible to children with disabilities and their families.  The event also gave us the opportunity to spread the word about our work.”
