Challenging Disability Through Outdoor Adventure

Accessible Archery

Archery, like all of the activities at Calvert Trust Exmoor, is a very flexible and adaptable activity. We have a wide range of different techniques and bows available, including ‘standard’ takedown recurve bows, a Hwal (Korean composite reflex bow, originally used from horseback) and a trigger release bow, developed in house.

We also use a wide range of targets including roundels, dartboards, cans and balloons!

Archery is great for developing hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, and can also be very sensory. Its also fantastic for building self esteem and a sense of achievement.

Archery also features as an activity in the Exmoor Calvert Challenge, and as a day activity for non-residential visitors.
