Bursary Assistance

Thanks to donations from various generous benefactors, Calvert Trust Exmoor is sometimes able to offer financial assistance towards the cost of a booking for those in financial hardship, please ask us for a Bursary application form at the time of booking.

Group Discount Tariff

Calvert Trust Exmoor offers a group discount tariff, that allows a group to bring up to 12 people, but pay for 10.  Booking as a group also gives you an exclusive instructor just for your group, no others guests will join your group on activities.

Types of Break

Calvert Trust Exmoor offers a number of different types of break, from our special themed breaks and carers breaks, to fun adventurous holidays, and personal development breaks, which are designed to help you overcome challenges, develop self confidence and gain self esteem.

 

Please help us to help you get the most out of your time at Calvert Trust Exmoor, by specifying when you book the type of break you are looking for.

Travelling to us by Train

We are happy to arrange collection and drop off for our guests with a local, accessible, taxi firm from either Barnstaple or Tiverton stations. Please arrange this service at the time of making your booking. 

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is for our guests’ to use as a leisure activity and may not always be available.

 

The pool is not directly supervised by our staff and guests’ are therefore responsible for their own safety. We require a minimum of three capable people in the pool at any one time, who are all able to raise the alarm in an emergency. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Calvert Trust Exmoor cannot be held responsible for accidents in the pool.

Animals

Assistance dogs are welcome, but please inform us when you book that you will be bringing an assistance dog with you. We regret that no other pets are allowed. 

 

Assistance dogs are unable to attend horse riding, bike or water based activities, but can stay in the bedroom or our outside kennel.

Restrictions

We will always try to include everyone on all activities but occasionally this is not always possible.

 

Non participating guests or visitors are unable to attend or spectate activity sessions. 

 

If you are over 16 stone you will not be able to go horse riding, but maybe able to carriage drive instead.

 

For the health and well being of the other participants and instructors someone over 18 stone may not be able to take part in rope based activities. (This will be assessed on a case by case basis once you have arrived).

 

Please be aware that sailing is not currently available on midweek breaks, and stables activities are not available at weekends (except for our special Horse Experience Weekends).

 

Guests are asked not arrive before 4pm. Unfortunately evening meals are not available after 7:30pm. If you anticipate arriving after 7:30pm please contact us in advance of your arrival date to make alternative arrangements.

Local Accommodation

We are open to all, and love having whole families stay with us and take part in everything together, and we firmly believe that this is the best way to take a break at Calvert Trust Exmoor. Occasionally parents or other family members of guests having a break at Calvert Trust Exmoor want to stay in the local area but not on site. If you would like to do this please see our links page, where there are links to a couple other accommodation providers.
