Challenging Disability Through Outdoor Adventure

Friends of Calvert Trust

Founded in 1979, the Friends of Calvert Trust, Lake District was established as a separate charity (number 1067899) in order to promote and support all aspects of the work by the Trust. In particular, the Friends raise money from subscriptions, donations, street collections and organised events. All the money raised goes to the Trust and is used to provide equipment such as customised mini buses which are essential as all offsite activities need mini buses to get our visitors there.

Approximately 50% of our Friends live locally in Cumbria. They are not only more easily able to attend fund raising events but can get more involved in arranging these or, joining the Friends Committee that meets three to four times a year. Some Committee Members have gone on to be more active in the running of the Calvert Trust and becoming Trustees. However, our Friends who live further away are equally important and are kept involved through regular newsletters that include fund raising projects.
