Facilities
Wherever possible, activities are conducted ‘off-site’ to maximise the challenging outdoor experience. We do, however, have some wonderful on-site facilities for relaxing after a long day of activity (or for those wet-weather moments).
Water Centre
Our state of the art Water Centre has been developed to offer a fully accessible pool via tracking hoist, steps and graduated entry. The pool is kept at hydrotherapy temperatures and has a swim-in Jacuzzi. It also has an adjustable floor to allow changes in depth and a facility to generate a current so that it can be used for training and familiarisation in canoes and boats, as well as for scuba-diving.
Sensory Room
As part of the Water Centre development, we have constructed a sensory room which creates a wonderful environment for relaxation and learning.
Bar and Games Room
With a quiet conservatory at one end, our Games Room is the hub of the Centre in the evenings. Offering table football, pool and snooker, a tuck shop and bar, it’s the perfect place to relax after the day activities are over.
Sports Hall
The Sports Hall houses our indoor climbing wall which is used for activities during the day. In the evening, it’s great for team activities including basketball, curling, football or hockey.
'the varied programme... and your staff used their skills to meet the needs of our students. Our students were treated with respect and included in every activity. We have already booked for next year! If anyone at LDCT wants a job with Manchester College, PLEASE apply! 5 days here and we have not had to administer any sedatives. You could save the NHS a fortune!!'
