214 ways to raise money!

Ady Gray has just raised over £1200 for the Lake District Calvert Trust by climbing the 214 Wainwrights in only one year!

Ady who is now living in Lancaster but was based in Cumbria when he began his challenge said, "On my walks I achieved things I had never tried - nor contemplated - before. I've climbed Grade 1 scrambles in Jack's Rake on Pavey Ark, Striding and Swirral Edges on Helvellyn and Lord's Rake between the Scafells. I've seen two young Ospreys on their flight leaving the nest to start a life of their own, had a cup of tea while two deer stopped to graze and I've even been lucky- and grateful - to see the Golden Eagle on the wing. I've got soaked in the
Langdales, braved a blizzard on Great Gable and been sunburnt on Blencathra. I've amassed over 3000 photos of the most beautiful places in England and raised over £1200, for a charity that takes people with disabilities on outdoor pursuits, in the process."

Louise Miles (Local Fundraising Officer at Lake District Calvert Trust) said, " We are all very impressed by Ady's achievement and are very grateful that he decided to raise money for the Calvert Trust thus enabling people with disabilities to also enjoy the Lake District countryside during their visits to the Centre."
