We are accessible to people of all ages with sensory, learning or physical disabilities, including those with the most complex needs for which most outdoor centres cannot cater.

Stables Christmas Fair

A fantastic day was had by all at the 2013 Stables Christmas Fair: we had a steady flow of visitors throughout the day, and the team managed to raise an impressive £1510! There was a truly Christmassy atmosphere created in The Tithe Barn: visitors were treated to an interesting array of stalls and an unremitting supply of hot drinks and homemade mince pies.

Firstly a huge thank you must go out to our amazing team of volunteers: we simply could not pull off successful events like this without you. It is not merely about hard work: the enthusiasm and dedication shown by all our volunteers is truly inspiring, and evidently rubs off on everyone who interacts with them.

A massive thank you must also go out to Enesco for continuing to provide us with a wide range of colourful stock to sell on our stall. The traditional ‘guess the weight of the cake’, raffle, and tombola were popular with our visitors and appealed to all ages.

12 more ponies were adopted through our ‘Adopt a Pony’ scheme – the idea of a gift that lasts a whole year is really catching on - and almost all of our ponies adopted that day were destined for Christmas presents. We had a number of Lake District Calvert Trust Logo goods on sale too: our Christmas cards have been going down a storm this year and we found ourselves needing to replenish stock from the centre; and people couldn’t resist giving our teddy bears a home.

It may still be November, but the Christmas spirit had well and truly arrived at the stables last weekend! We still have plenty of cards and wrapping paper to sell and if you missed out on any Enesco goods, will have plenty with us at the Keswick Christmas Fayre on Sunday the 1st of December.
