The Lake District Calvert Trust is a residential outdoor centre with 40 years’ experience delivering challenging outdoor adventure holidays for people with disabilities.

On the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, in the heart of the Lake District National Park, our centre offers a warm welcome; accessible accommodation and exciting breaks for schools, groups, families and individuals with their friends and carers.

We are accessible to people of all ages with sensory, learning or physical disabilities, including those with the most complex needs for which most outdoor centres cannot cater.

If you haven’t been before or just not visited in a while, come and see what’s new...start planning your next activity break at the Lake District Calvert Trust!

St Bees School Ball Raises a Large Sum of Funds

The Black tie dinner and charity auction was hosted as part of Old St Beghians Day, and raised over £15,500. The Lake District Calvert Trust received a generous share of the total funds - a cheque for £7470! The remainder of the proceeds went to two other worthy causes: Cash for Kids Give Me a Break Appeal, and St Bees Lifeboats.

A highlight of the evening was guest speaker Stuart Lancaster.  After a training session with the schools senior rugby team, the current England Rugby head coach took to the stage and entertained the 300 guests at his former school.

A special mention must go to The Froggat family – Thomas, Nick, and Maggie - who were responsible for nominating us for this donation, and who are regular users of our facilities here at the Keswick centre. We can’t thank them enough for their ongoing support.
