The Lake District Calvert Trust is a residential outdoor centre with 40 years’ experience delivering challenging outdoor adventure holidays for people with disabilities.

On the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, in the heart of the Lake District National Park, our centre offers a warm welcome; accessible accommodation and exciting breaks for schools, groups, families and individuals with their friends and carers.

We are accessible to people of all ages with sensory, learning or physical disabilities, including those with the most complex needs for which most outdoor centres cannot cater.

Gilly Fraser to meet new pony ‘Nicky’ at the Stables Open Day

The Lake District Calvert Trust Riding Centre is delighted to welcome Gilly Fraser, Freelance Journalist and former Border TV Presenter, along to the Stables Open Day on Sunday 6th July between 1.30 and 4pm; this is a free event with demonstrations of loose jumping and horse tricks, horse shoe decoration and other activities with refreshments available.

The Lake District Calvert Trust Riding Centre is situated on the outskirts of Keswick, at the foot of Latrigg fell. There are currently 10 ponies, including Nicky the latest pony to join the stables team, all of which are waiting for people to sponsor them to help them continue their good work. There are many ways of supporting the stables including volunteering, donations and our Adopt a Pony scheme where levels of sponsorship range from £12 to £1000.
