The Lake District Calvert Trust is a residential outdoor centre with 40 years’ experience delivering challenging outdoor adventure holidays for people with disabilities.

On the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, in the heart of the Lake District National Park, our centre offers a warm welcome; accessible accommodation and exciting breaks for schools, groups, families and individuals with their friends and carers.

We are accessible to people of all ages with sensory, learning or physical disabilities, including those with the most complex needs for which most outdoor centres cannot cater.

If you haven’t been before or just not visited in a while, come and see what’s new...start planning your next activity break at the Lake District Calvert Trust!

Stables Open Day a Huge Success

We would like to say an enormous thank you to all the wonderful people who helped make our 2014 Stables Open Day such a success: Stables volunteers; Members of Rotary Club Bassenthwaite; Gilly Fraser; and Sam Mellor - Face Painter extraordinaire! Thank you all for giving up your valuable time, we really appreciate your efforts.

Thanks also to all those who donated prizes for the raffle and tombola; and big thanks too must go out to Morrisons Penrith; Lowe Alpine; and Enesco Ltd who all provided goods to sell and use on the day.

Not only were we treated to some fabulous entertainment laid on by the Stables team (humans and ponies alike!), but we also managed to raise an impressive £440 last Sunday, so again, big thanks to everyone involved in organising, managing, helping, and not least, attending!

Don't forget - if you ever fancy adopting one of our amazing ponies, please get in touch! Follow this link to check out profiles of all the ponies in the stables.
