The Lake District Calvert Trust is a residential outdoor centre with 40 years’ experience delivering challenging outdoor adventure holidays for people with disabilities.

On the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, in the heart of the Lake District National Park, our centre offers a warm welcome; accessible accommodation and exciting breaks for schools, groups, families and individuals with their friends and carers.

We are accessible to people of all ages with sensory, learning or physical disabilities, including those with the most complex needs for which most outdoor centres cannot cater.

If you haven’t been before or just not visited in a while, come and see what’s new...start planning your next activity break at the Lake District Calvert Trust!

Local MP visits Lake District Calvert Trust

Sue Hayman MP visit 25th March

We were delighted to show Sue Hayman, our local MP, around our centre recently. Sue was interested to hear about the great work we do & that the visitors arriving for the week were local people with disabilities sponsored by the Cumbria & Lancashire District Rotary Clubs.

As well as a centre tour Sue had come along to meet some of our volunteers that have taken up some exciting challenges in support of LDCT.

David Davenport, a regular activities volunteer at the centre has set himself a massive 3 Centre Bike Ride Challenge, cycling over 1,000 miles from our Lakes centre to Exmoor, then Kielder before returning to our centre.

Phil Longman & Glyn Spalding, Rotarians from the Ulverston Club have decided to do a sponsored SkyDive on the 9th July with Rotary Club of Carlisle Castle members & friends.
