On Sunday 23 April, 15 Team Calvert  runners completed the Virgin Money London Marathon. They passed iconic London landmarks and were cheered all the way before crossing the finishing line after an exhilarating 26+ miles.

The weather was overcast as our runners finally began the marathon they had spent over a year training for, before the sun showed up and the heat rose to phew!.

All our runners successfully competed the course but first across the line was Dave Edwards with a blistering sub 3 hour time.

We occupied our usual cheering point at mile 19, headed up by Calvert Trust Kielder's Charlotte Gaunt and Calvert Trust Exmoor's Fiona Walker.

Charlotte Gaunt said of the event 'The cheering point is a really good way to support and encourage not only our runners, but everyone who has decided to take on this event. We are so proud of The Calvert 15, who have not only dedicated time to training but have raised a fantastic amount of money for our very special charity'.

So far, the Fabulous Fifteen  have raised over £18,000  with each runner fundraising for their favourite centre, Calvert Trust Kielder, Calvert Trust Exmoor or Lake District Calvert Trust.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all our runners, who pushed themselves beyond their limits to complete the marathon, and to the support group at mile 19 who loudly and proudly cheered on all participants!
