Challenging Disability Through Outdoor Adventure

The Grooms Cottage

Based at Old Windebrowe, on the outskirts of Keswick, the Grooms Cottage is part of a listed barn and stables builiding, once the home of William Wordsworth.

The Grooms Cottage sleeps six and has a large bathroom with electronic bath chair, as well as an additional shower room.

There is ramp-access via a cobbled courtyard that is surrounded by high stone walls complete with patio table and chairs. There is an ancient stone trough and tap beside the front door, this was probably a watering hole for horses in Wordsworth’s time.

All bedrooms have doors that provide easy access to the exterior of the building.

It is possible to hire both the Grooms and Shilliles cottages, they have an interconnecting door and can provide accomodation up to 11 people if required.

There is restricted vehicle turning space in front of the cottage, so we request that no more than one vehicle be parked for access purposes.
