What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a scheme operated by the UK Government which allows registered charities to reclaim the tax paid on any donation.

In other words, for every £1 donated, Calvert Trust Exmoor will receive an additional 25p from the government at no extra cost to the person making the donation.

To qualify for this rebate, donors must be over the age of 18, paying income tax and living in the UK. To reclaim the tax you don’t have to do anything else, Calvert Trust Exmoor submits the completed forms to Inland Revenue to receive the additional income.

Please also remember that if you are taking part in a sponsored even, the pledges of your supporters may also qualify for gift aid. Please make sure they include the appropriate information and tick the gift aid box if they are happy to do so.

You can find out more about Gift Aid from the HMRC Website
