Read all about it! Newspaper team visits Exmoor

Calvert Trust Exmoor were delighted to host a visit recently from a team from our local newspaper, the North Devon Journal.

The Journal team experienced spent the afternoon experiencing some of the activities that Calvert Trust Exmoor has on offer, including increasing their disability awareness by trying archery wearing visual impairment glasses. They also had a tour of the five star, fully accessible facilities and got to meet their newest correspondent, Pilgrim the Pony, who has recently started writing a bi-weekly column for the paper.

The first activity the team experienced was archery, under the expert tuition of Ed, one of Calvert Trust Exmoor's activity instructors.

As well as trying standard bows, the Journal team also tried the trigger bow, a Calvert Trust design which allows guests with limited upper body strength or movement to take part in archery, and had a go at sensory archery with visual impairment glasses. Bideford reporter Faye Greenwell (@NDJFayeG) described the sensory archery as "altogether a rather humbling experience".

Having tried the archery the team then moved on to the Challenge Course, where Ed put them through their paces on several challenges designed to promote team work, lateral thinking and leadership skills.
