Places up for grabs in the Virgin London Marathon

We still have places in the Virgin London Marathon 2011 and we are looking for keen runners who want to raise money for children and adults with disabilities.

This year 11 runners took part in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon to raise much needed funds for The Calvert Trust.  All of the runners completed their challenge, with some breaking their personal records and doing extremely well.

Julie Georgiadis, Ran for The Calvert Trust - “I thoroughly enjoyed myself, finishing the race in 3hr 33mins. My favourite spectacle was a priest flicking holy water from the side of the road onto the runners. Definitely up for it again next year!”

As part of the 2010 Virgin London Marathon, The Calvert Trust were also very fortunate to be one of Phil Packer’s 26 charities in his run which took 26 hours – each mile and hour raising funds for a different charity.

Joining Phil on mile 11 was Warwick Kent a former guest at Exmoor.  Warwick said: "Where else can I abseil in my wheelchair, fly down a zip-wire or be hoisted into a canoe AND do it with my brothers and even dad with me? I just want to raise money for more young people to be able to experience the pant-wetting fear of a rock-face viewed from a wheelchair!"

Thank you to all who made the 2010 London marathon a success, especially the runners and their generous supporters.
